The clusters of chrysanthemums in this print by Kamisaka Sekka hang with a noticeable weight, set against a background of deep brown and steely blue rich with the inky textures of the woodblock printing process. This print is from Sekka’s 1909 book Momoyogusa (Flowers of a Hundred Worlds), a collection of art and poetry about the natural world. Our reproduction of the original is printed on matte paper with archival inks.
